The Institute annually performs an average of 60-80 scientific research works, more than 350 technical developments under agreements and contracts with enterprises and firms of the CIS countries and far abroad. 27 projects are financed by the State Fund for Scientific and Technical Programs, the Fund for Fundamental Research, the International Funds of NATO, INTAS, SRDF, the Ukrainian Scientific and Technological Center.

Over the years of the Institute’s existence, 3163 copyright certificates and patents for inventions have been obtained, 29 licenses for the Institute’s developments have been sold abroad. The Institute has obtained 380 foreign patents. Scientists have published 125 monographs, 90 collections of scientific works, 217 reference books, methodological manuals, textbooks, etc., more than 7,000 scientific works in prestigious scientific journals. Monographs of employees are published in Japan, China, the USA, and France.

During the 50 years of the Institute’s activity, 362 employees have defended their dissertations, including 53 doctoral and 309 candidate theses. Outside the Institute, over 20 doctoral and 150 candidate theses have been defended in special councils of other cities and countries, including the cities of Yakutsk, Minsk, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Kramatorsk, Kharkiv, Tula, Tashkent, Saratov, Perm, Kuibyshev, Tbilisi, Donetsk, Naberezhnye Chelny, etc., with which the Institute has maintained close creative ties throughout its activity.

A number of international conferences, symposiums and exhibitions dedicated to the topic of INM were held at the Institute. Employees annually participate in international conferences, seminars, symposiums, and undergo scientific internships in Japan, France, Germany, the USA, Italy and other countries.
