“ALKON” is an association of the V.M. Bakul Institute of Superhard Materials of the NAS of Ukraine with production, design and technological, research and industrial and trade and marketing organizations.
The General Director of the “ALKON” Concern is V.Z. Turkevich, Professor, Academician of the NAS of Ukraine.
“ALKON” manufactures:
100% of the world’s range of superhard materials (SHM), produces 5% of the world’s SHM production by volume. The main areas of activity of “ALKON” are the development of technologies for the synthesis of various grades of diamonds, cubic boron nitride, diamond-like promising materials and film coatings, the production of high-density ceramics, wear-resistant composites for instrumental and functional purposes; the creation and production of tools made of diamonds, cubic boron nitride, hard alloys for abrasive processing, polishing, turning, milling, drilling, cutting, boring of various materials; the development of machining technologies using tools made of superhard materials for the formation of precision complex-profile products with minimal surface roughness parameters; the development and production of devices, machines and technological equipment, means and methods of control and measurement, certification.
The priority developments of “ALKON” in the SHM market are:
powders made of synthetic diamonds and cubic boron nitride, pastes, polycrystals, diamond segments, cutting discs, diamond and hard alloy rock-breaking cutters, drill bits and bits, diamond and cubonite grinding discs on ceramic, organic and metal bonds, straightening tools, products made of hard alloys and ceramics, diamond and diamond-like film coating.
