On April 9, 2024, a meeting of the Council of Young Scientists of the V.M. Bakul Institute of Natural Sciences was held. The meeting considered several topical and important issues, including:

-Implementation of measures to prepare for the celebration of Science Day at the Institute of Science of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan
-Resolving organizational issues. According to the results of an open vote, the new Secretary of the Institute of Science of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Philosophy Klochok Vyacheslav Yuriyovych, was elected.

In October 2023, the RMV took part in the organization of the XII Conference of Young Scientists and Specialists “Superhard, Composite Materials and Coatings: Production, Properties, Applications”.
The event took place on October 19-20 at the V.M. Bakul Institute of Superhard Materials, and those who wished were also given the opportunity to participate in the Conference online.
In total, more than 40 people joined the work of the Conference.

In 2001, the V.M. Bakul Institute of Superhard Materials of the NAS of Ukraine resumed the work of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists, which organizes and coordinates the activities of young scientists and specialists under the age of 35.
The Council consists of young scientists (20 young scientists as of 2019) working in the departments of three sections of the Academic Council. The Council of Young Scientists and Specialists participates in summarizing the scientific work of young scientists and postgraduate students.
Every year, young scientists are awarded honorary diplomas for achievements in their field:

Since 2002, the Council of Young Scientists has organized and held the All-Ukrainian Conference of Young Scientists and Specialists “Superhard, Composite Materials and Coatings: Production, Properties, Applications” every two years.
According to the results of the 10th Conference, Savitsky Oleksandr Volodymyrovych was awarded the Honorary Diploma named after G.P. Bogatyreva for young scientists.

Young scientists actively participate in Ukrainian and international projects. In particular, Sadova Yulia Ivanivna, Kushch Olga Vasilyivna, Chernienko Oleksandr Ivanovych and Rumyantseva Yulia Yuriivna participate in the project of the National Research Foundation “Support for Research of Leading and Young Scientists” (“Crystallization of Gallium Nitride GaN on a Seed”), and Burchenya Andriy Vitaliyovich and Gordeyev Serhiy Oleksandrovich – in the project “Development of new carbon solvent compositions for growing diamond single crystals in the thermodynamic stability region with a controlled content of nitrogen and boron impurities for the purpose of creating conceptual designs of electronic devices” of the National Research Foundation “Support for Research of Leading and Young Scientists”

Since July 1, 2019, the institute has been implementing the youth project of the NAS of Ukraine. Young scientists regularly participate in competitions for scholarships of the President and the NAS of Ukraine. Thus, as of 2019, 3 young scientists were awarded the Presidential scholarship and 2 – the NAS of Ukraine scholarship. In addition, in 2019, research associate Evdokimova Olga Vyacheslavivna was awarded the Honorary Diploma named after M.M. Babych. On September 25-27, 2019, the Council of Young Scientists attended the international conference MSSE2019 (held at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv) and participated in the round table of young scientists

In addition, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, young scientists of the Institute continue to participate in conferences, some of which were held remotely. Thus, Kushch O. V. took part in the “International Conference of Students and Young Scientists in Theoretical and Experimental Physics “EUREKA-2019”, Redkin A. V. – in the i-Pac 2018/2 conference; Walter AG, Athens, Greece (30.03.2019-03.04.2019) and underwent training Basic product training, Paul Horn GmbH, Tübingen, Germany (12.11.2019-15.11.2019), and young scientist Chernienko O. I. together with Garashchenko V. V. attended the 6th scientific and practical conference of young scientists “Reality and prospects of materials science” (June 25-27, 2021).
