“SUPERHARD MATERIALS” – scientific and theoretical journal

Founders:
National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; Institute of Superhard Materials named after V.M. Bakul. Founded in July 1979. Certificate of state registration – KV No. 23492-13332 dated 06/22/2018. Circulation 54 copies. Periodicity – 6 issues per year. Languages: Ukrainian, English. Format 70´108/16.
Topics of the Journal:
theoretical and experimental research structures and properties of single and polycrystals of synthetic diamond and cubic boron nitride, refractory compounds, high-density ceramics and hard alloys, their application in tool production.
The journal presents modern results of fundamental and applied research related to the production, properties and application of superhard materials. It publishes the results of fundamental research on the physicochemical processes of formation and growth of single-component, polycrystalline and dispersed substances, diamond and diamond-like films; development of methods for direct and directional controlled synthesis of superhard materials and methods for static, explosive and epitaxial synthesis of these materials. The following priority developments of the V.M. Bakul Institute of Superhard Materials are discussed on the pages of the journal: large single crystals of synthetic diamonds; fine grinding of elite and micron powders of synthetic diamonds and elboron; polycrystals and composite superhard materials based on diamond and elboron; diamond and carbide cutters for high-performance metal processing, drilling, stone processing, coal mining and geological exploration; ceramic products; polishing pastes for high-precision optics; ultra-precision turning and polishing; technologies for precision machining of metals, glass and ceramics. The articles cover all fundamental and technological aspects of synthesis, characterization, study of properties, methods and areas of application of these materials.
